Miss Pat Receives Pioneer Award for Support of Caribbean Athletics

On Sunday (April 16th), Patricia ‘Miss Pat’ Chin, the matriarch of VP Records, received the Pioneer Award at Team Jamaica Bickle’s Labor of Love luncheon gala for her ardent and continued support of Caribbean athletes visiting and performing at the Penn Relays.

Team Jamaica Bickle is a non-profit organization founded by Irwine G. Clare to provide assistance for athletes, officials, and coaching staff traveling to the U.S. from Jamaica – and now the wider Caribbean – to compete. Services offered to athletes include meals and refreshments; physical therapy; ground transportation; subsidized airfare and hotel rates; among others.

Over the years, Miss Pat and VP Records have worked closely with Team Jamaica Bickle to raise funds and provide entertainment in support of the Caribbean athletics community. This year, reggae-dancehall songstress Ikaya will be performing at the Team Jamaica Bickle Athlete’s Village at Penn Relays, the oldest and largest track and field event in the U.S., which is set to be held on April 29th.
