“FIRST CLASS FLIGHT” BY JAHVALLANI FEAT PRINCE SWANNY OUT NOW- Video Premiere on Complex

Out today, Jamaican dancehall artist Jahvillani releases the single and video for “First Class Flight” featuring Trinidad star Prince Swanny on VP Records. The single premiered last night on Instagram with a live set from Platinum Kids and comes ahead of his forthcoming EP, “Dirt to Bentley”.
Produced by YGF, the single’s catchy tune and lyrics are perfect for the start of Summer 2020, as people slowly begin to travel again and board flights. However, the song is deeper then that, “I was once unknown to many but eventually my talents have made me higher than a first class flight,” the artist explains about the real meaning of the song.
Premiering on Complex today, the video, directed by Randall Richards, showcases the artists enjoying the good life with an array of cars and women.
Born Dujon Edwards, the artist hails from a rural neighborhood called Great Pond that sits in St. Ann, a parish on Jamaica’s northern coast. As a student, he started writing verses and became a campus favorite after three energetic performances. He decided that he would perform under the moniker “Jahvillani,” a name forged through thinking about balance.
Citing acts like Vybz Kartel and Mavado as artists who helped shape his approach to his craft, he was dually influenced by the lyricism of legendary dancehall artists like Buju Banton and Bounty Killer who embedded the narratives of their upbringing as inner city youth into their work, something that the artist related to.
Other hit songs from Jahvilani include “Clarks Pon Foot” which garnered over 5 million streams as well as the badman anthem “Nuh Reason” which swept radio circuits and dancehall clubs throughout the Caribbean, U.S., and U.K.
