The countdown is on to one of North America’s largest Carnival, the Toronto Caribbean Carnival.  The week-long festivities culminate in a celebration from August 3rd to 7th, which includes a spectacular display of costumes, music, and culture.

2023 marks the 56th anniversary of the Grande Parade, which was first gifted to Canada by the Caribbean Community during Canada’s centennial celebrations.  An estimated 1.5 million people will take to Lakeshore Blvd as either a masquerader or an onlooker.

In advance of the Grande parade, Kes, of “Wotless” and “Savanah Grass” fame will perform at his concert, IzWe.  Held at the Markham Fair Grounds on Saturday July 29th, Kes and invited guest Shaggy will perform their recently released single “Mood” for Soca-loving fans.

Between the IzWe concert, and the Toronto Carnival Grande Parade, we give you all the Soca sweetness on our Soca Gold playlist on Spotify which you can stream here!
